Andrew Finnigan is a Partner at Sound Wealth Partners with more than 27 years of experience helping individuals, families, and business owners make informed decisions about their wealth. Specializing in high-net-worth households and clients preparing for or navigating retirement, he brings together investment management, retirement income planning, and coordination of tax and estate considerations. His experience spans multiple market cycles, giving him a practical perspective on managing uncertainty and keeping financial decisions grounded in each client’s long-term goals.

Andrew’s approach begins with understanding how a client’s financial life fits together. He evaluates investments alongside cash flow, retirement benefits, tax exposure, family responsibilities, and future priorities. From there, he helps clients identify opportunities, address gaps, and put decisions into action. His work continues through regular reviews, ongoing investment oversight, and adjustments as clients’ circumstances evolve.

His investment philosophy emphasizes disciplined asset allocation, diversification, and careful evaluation of risk. Andrew considers both a client’s comfort with market fluctuations and their financial capacity to withstand losses. His portfolio reviews examine concentration, income requirements, and performance in both rising and declining markets. The objective is to align investment strategy with the client’s needs, time horizon, and ability to remain invested through changing conditions.

Retirement income planning is a central focus of his practice. Andrew helps clients evaluate how Social Security, pensions, retirement accounts, and other assets can work together to support their desired lifestyle. This includes analyzing projected spending, withdrawal strategies, required minimum distributions, and the transition from accumulating wealth to drawing on it. He also helps clients assess workplace retirement plans and account consolidation opportunities within the context of their broader financial picture.

Andrew incorporates tax considerations into planning and investment decisions, including evaluating Roth conversion opportunities, tax-loss harvesting, and the tax implications of account withdrawals. He coordinates with clients’ CPAs, estate planning attorneys, and other specialists to connect these decisions with the broader plan. Beneficiary reviews, charitable giving strategies, and planning for heirs are also part of helping clients think carefully about how their wealth will support the people and causes that matter to them.

Throughout these conversations, Andrew places a strong emphasis on clear communication and follow-through. He helps clients understand their choices, weigh trade-offs, and distinguish decisions that deserve attention from headlines that can distract from their goals. His role is to provide an ongoing relationship in which clients have someone to call, questions are addressed, and important decisions receive thoughtful consideration.
